Comprehensive Eye Exams

An eye examination evaluation generally includes assessments of visual of acuity, eye pressure(Intraocular pressure – glaucoma screening), ocular motility, color fundus photography, examination with a slit lamp microscope, and may include an ocular CT scan and visual field testing if indicated.

Cataract Surgery

Cataract surgery involves removing the cloudy lens from the eye and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens. This is a quick procedure performed using state of the art equipment in theatre.

Glaucoma Treatment

Glaucoma is damage to the optic nerve, which is the main nerve to the brain from the back of the eye, which transmits visual information from the eye to the brain. This damage is often caused by increased intraocular pressure (eye pressure), which can result from a buildup of fluid in the eye due to a malfunctioning drainage system. It is called the “Thief of Sight” because in earlier disease there are no symptoms.

Diabetic Eye Care

Diabetes can cause Diabetic Retinopathy (bleeding in the eye) and cataracts, and secondary eye pressure/Glaucoma. Diabetic retinopathy can develop in anyone who has type 1 diabetes or type 2 diabetes. There are usually no symptoms, until severe disease.
Every Diabetic should have yearly dilated eye exams with and Ocular CT scan by an Ophthalmologist.

Dry Eye Treatment

Dry eye syndrome occurs when your eyes don't produce enough tears or when the tears evaporate too quickly due to an unstable tear film layer.

Retinal Screening

The Retina ( Sensory layer at the back of the eye to help you see) can have bleeding, swelling, Age-Related damage, scarring, etc. Retinal screening is important with scans to prevent vision loss.

KERATOCONUS AND CROSS-LINKING TREATMENT

Keratoconus is a progressive thinning of the cornea (Front, first clear layer of the eye) which bulges outward into a cone shape, causing distorted vision. Corneal collagen cross-linking is a procedure done in rooms, that strengthens the cornea by applying riboflavin (vitamin B2) eye drops and then exposing the cornea to specific ultraviolet light. This treatment can help slow or halt the progression of keratoconus.
